How a critical cancer drug became hard to find in the U.S.

Thank you NBC News for covering the drug shortage crisis, highlighting Michael Thompson, one of our Shortage Warriors, and showcasing how one issue in our brittle supply chain can cause a ripple effect impacting patients nationwide.

“I panicked when I received the news that a critical drug that I need was not available. I felt dejected and defeated. I prayed a lot.

Then God began to work a miracle. We became a small link in a chain that connected us to Laura Bray and her organization, Angels for Change. We gave her authorization to advocate for us. Through her industry connections she was able to identify some emergency supplies and she coordinated with the Mayo Clinic to get those supplies to the Mayo Clinic for all patients in need.”- Mike Thompson

We proudly connect patients to lifesaving medicines when the supply chain has failed, but reactive work is not enough. We must work together to create a supply chain where our nation’s patients have equal access to their life saving treatments everyday, every time.
