Angels for Change Announce 2023 Change Maker of the Year Award

Tampa, FL [November 1st, 2023] - Angels for Change announced the 2023 Change Maker of the Year Award at their 3rd Annual Champions for Change Gala on September 16th in Tampa, FL. The Change Maker of the Year award is given to an individual, a change agent, who has committed to and delivered significant change in the fight to ensure access to essential medicines for patients.

This year’s Change Maker of the Year Award winner is Terri Lyle Wilson, Vice President of Pharmacy, Children’s Hospital Association. Angels for Change recognizes Terri for her supply chain and pharmacy expertise, her role as a founding team member of Project PROTECT, and her patient advocacy work for our nation’s children.

Terri’s outstanding contributions, visionary leadership, efforts to improve the well-being of children across the nation, and the advancements of healthcare practices make her a deserving recipient of this award. Wilson now joins Bryan Tyler, Chief Executive Officer, McKesson Corporation, and Dan Kistner, PharmD, Group Senior Vice President, Pharmacy Solutions for Vizient, as the 3rd A4C Change Maker of the Year.

In 2022, Angels for Change launched Project PROTECT, a new approach to mitigate drug shortages by building redundant onshore supply of vulnerable essential medicines. This work protected two essential medicines resulting in 700,000 life-saving drug shortage treatments accessed by patients, mostly children, across the United States. Project PROTECT has now expanded to protect nine essential medicines. Read more here.

Angels for Change is committed to supporting and celebrating supply chain and health care experts like Terri Lyle Wilson who are making a significant difference in ending drug shortages. It is an honor to share this announcement and congratulate Terri Lyle Wilson on this well-deserved recognition.

“Never underestimate the power of advocates brainstorming together to save lives. I have the pleasure of recognizing a fierce pharmacy leader, turned supply chain expert, who was one of the chief architects of Project Protect, and I feel lucky to call her a friend.” Said Laura Bray, Chief Change Maker and Founder of Angels for Change when presenting the award to Terri during the ceremony.

“I am humbled to receive the Change Maker of the Year Award which honors our work to end pediatric drug shortages, including Project PROTECT, the embodiment of a great idea propelled to action with the support of Laura and Angels for Change,” said Wilson, “thank you”.
