Bipartisan MAPS Act Introduced to Congress

Angels for Change supports the Mapping America’s Pharmaceutical Supply (MAPS) Act, introduced by Representatives Doris Matsui and Dan Crenshaw, which aims to address vulnerabilities in the pharmaceutical supply chain. We would like to thank Rep. Matsui and Rep. Crenshaw for this bipartisan legislation and for including patient-focused input from Angels for Change during the development of this work.

The MAPS Act tasks the Department of Health and Human Services with mapping the pharmaceutical supply chain including essential medicines, ingredient sources, manufacturing locations, and risk factors to better identify and monitor potential points of disruption.

“This bipartisan legislation will strengthen transparency and coordination across the entire drug supply chain, helping to detect and prevent disruptions before they impact care,” said Laura Bray, in the bill’s official press release.

The MAPS Act offers a step forward in addressing the systemic issues that contribute to medicine shortages.
